Personalized in-home respite care through Medicare GUIDE
Reflections provides contracted in-home respite care through Medicare GUIDE for eligible families caring for someone living with dementia. We help plan support around your loved one so you can take a much-needed break.
Get the Guidance You Need
Support in familiar surroundings
An in-home respite visit gives a family caregiver time away while their loved one stays at home. Before a visit, we discuss the person’s routine, preferences, communication, and the support included in the approved arrangement.
Tell us what helps your loved one feel settled and what you would like us to know. The agreed plan should be clear to you and the person providing care.
What you can expect with Reflections
A conversation about your family
We listen to what your loved one needs and what would make a break useful for you.
An agreed respite arrangement
Program eligibility, covered support, visit arrangements, and any limits must be confirmed before care starts.
Preparation for the visit
We discuss routines, preferences, practical instructions, and who to contact with questions.
A clear handover
Agree how you will share information before and after the visit, and how to raise any change in needs.
Coverage depends on the approved arrangement
GUIDE enrollment does not automatically mean respite is covered. The program assesses the person’s and caregiver’s circumstances and confirms any available respite benefit. People living in residential care communities cannot receive GUIDE respite.
The covered amount, approved services, and visit arrangements must be confirmed before care begins. Covered GUIDE services have no patient cost-sharing; additional private services are separate. Do not assume an unlimited number of hours or a cash payment to a family caregiver.
Keep GUIDE respite separate from private Registry care
GUIDE respite is arranged and approved through the program. Hiring an independent caregiver privately through Reflections Home Care Registry is a separate service and payment arrangement; it does not automatically qualify as GUIDE respite or become reimbursable by Medicare.
